How many of you have ever seen the Hoover Dam? Any dam? Do you know what this dam does? How much power does it make anually? Is there a lake or resevoir of some kind on one side? How big is it?
Missouri has a lot of hydroelectric powerplants. Lake of the Ozarks and Thomas Hill are the closest. In southern Missouri there is also Tom Sauk. This is a man-made lake on top of a mountain. They allow the water to fall to generate electricity. However, it takes more energy to drive the water back to the top than what it generates. Negative efficiency!!
